Congratulations on being longlisted for the Indie awards and on the vine, very impressive canopy and also a good metaphor for the writing process. Keep pruning, keep watering, be patient...good reminder that it all takes a long time. x

Hey Kate. I loved this post. We never got our grapevines to grow here on Phillip Island. The possums seemed to love them more than we did. More perseverance required. This post encourages me to try again! Also congratulations on The Hummingbird Effect being Long Listed. Woo hoo! That's amazing and I am sure, well deserved. I haven't read it yet but I did enjoy Skylarking.

I attended Meredith Music Festival this year - doing research for y first novel. I came back inspired - but I'm also feeling pretty overwhelmed. Writing is so much more challenging than I ever imagined. I guess, like the grape vines, I need to get the perseverance thing down. Izzy was at Meredith too but due to epic technology fails I missed out on catching up with her. We usually all catch up in Anglesea at the Mildenhalls for Christmas Breakfast - and it's one of our favourite things to do - but we can't make it this year so I will miss them all.

I just signed creatives for Palestine. Thanks for tip.

All the best for the festive season. Thanks for sharing all that you do. Lib x

Thank you dear Libby! A weird piece of grapevine advice we got from a mate with possum trouble is to hang chopped human hair in little bags on the vine to keep the possums away?!?! Apparently it works if anyone in your house needs a trim! GOOD LUCK and yes KEEP GOING with your writing (btw Meredith MF as a setting sounds epic and excellent!). And yes - one ouf our faves catching up with the Mildy crew at Anglesea for festive celebrations xx Thank you for adding your signature and for your gorgeous message xxx All the best for your festive season and your writing! x
